Then we find the perfect horse for each rider and have an introduction on how to ride on an Icelandic horse. Now we are ready to start the adventures. Our ride takes us through fields of lupins and ancient lava fields. The paths are nice and easy, so we get to tölt with the horses most of the track. Transfer (individual) to the hotel in Hafnarfjördur and dinner there.

    Day 2: Around the volcano

After breakfast we head out riding again, we enjoy the scenery and we will see Mt. Helgafell (338 m), it is located in a active volcanic region with the last eruption in the 13th or 14th century. We ride through moss covered lava and moon like landscapes.  We stop at some caves and can see as far as Snæfellsnes on a clear day on our way back. (app. 3 hours, 15 km) After a picnic lunch you can embark on a boat for a whale watching tour (optional, add it to your booking) or just enjoy a free afternoon in Reykjavik. At 17:30 our transfer will pick you up and drive you South to the farm in Grimstadir, where the adventure continues.

    Day 3. Black Beach Riding

For the next two days we will be riding on a black sand beach. We enjoy a great day on the beach, with the sea on one side and mountain panorama with the spectacular Eyjafjallajökull on the other side. We tölt through the dunes and cross tidal rivers.  (App. 3-4 hours riding). In the afternoon we embark on a sightseeing tour to see one of the most spectacular waterfall of the South and the black cliffs of Reynisfjara.

Day 4. Let the sea set you free

We are off to another ride on the Black Beach and enjoy the smooth tolt of our horses on the sand. After the ride we discover even more waterfalls on both sides of the Markafljot river (Gluggafoss and Seljalandsfoss). After an imbiss at around 6pm we drive you back to Reykjavik.
