19.12.2011
On 19 December we welcome the Yule Lad called Skyr Gobbler. His favourite is an Icelandic dairy product called skyr, which is similar to yogurt.
18.12.2011
Door Slammer comes to town on 18 December. He always made a lot of noise when he walked around, slamming doors and such, so people could hardly get any rest.
17.12.2011
Askasleikir (Bowl Licker) comes to town on 17 December. In the past, Icelanders ate from lidded wooden bowls that they sometimes kept under the bed or on the floor.
15.12.2011
Spoon Licker comes down from the mountains on 15 December. In the past he would sneak into the houses and lick the wooden spoon used to scrape the pots
14.12.2011
The third Yule Lad to come to town is Stúfur (Shorty). He is the smallest of the 13 brothers - a rare case of a lilliputian troll. (If there ever was a case to be made for troll therapy)
13.12.2011
The second was Gully Gawk, gray his head and mien. He snuck into the cow barn from his graggy ravine.
12.12.2011
The 13 Yule Lads were originally portrayed as being mischievous, or even criminal, pranksters that would steal from, or in other way harass the population (at the time mostly rural farmers). They all had descriptive names that conveyed their modus operandi.

From our powerful nature to the streets of Reykjavík, Iceland is
literally bursting with energy like never before. That’s why now isn’t
a time to stay away, this is a time to get closer.
25.5.2010
It appears as though the eruption has finally ceased. No more ash in the air, just white clouds of steam and lovely weather with blue sky and 20°C in many parts of Iceland!
7.5.2010
We would just like to assure you again that all our summer tours are on
schedule. Although the eruption is still active at Eyjafjallajökull
glacier, the glacier around the eruption has melted so the risk of
floods from the eruption is over and the ash fall is limited to a small
area around the eruption.
19.4.2010
According to scientists the eruption in Eyjafjallajökull glacier is
slowing down and hopefully it will be over soon. The behaviour of the
eruption has changed and one of the crater is not active anymore. The
amount of ash has reduced substantially.
5.3.2010
