Horseback riding in the winter in Iceland is magical.

The horses are “shoed-up” on special winter shoes with spikes allowing them to be sure-footed in the snow and ice and you will hear the special regular sound when the feet touch the snow and frozen ground.  The horses dress naturally for the occasion – they already have their thick and fluffy winter coat on and love the snowy winter.

We ride on excellent riding paths in the moss-covered lava fields, allowing you to fully enjoy the unique Icelandic horse, stunning nature and the wonders of winter. While riding you will enjoy the mountain view of Bláfjöll (Blue Mountains) and Mt. Helgafell (the Holy Mountain).

After an unforgettable ride, we return to our stables to enjoy hot cocoa or Glögg – our traditional warm winter drink, accompanied by spiced cookies.

We will provide you with warm overalls, boots, a helmet, and a friendly Icelandic horse so you will be comfortable during your ride! Come experience our Winter Adventure tour, you won’t regret it!
