Our popular Golden Circle tour offers a unique opportunity to discover and experience some of Iceland’s most reputed historical landmarks and natural phenomena.
During the tour, you will amongst other visits the Geysir geothermal area with its regularly erupting hot springs, Gullfoss the magnificent Golden Waterfall and Thingvellir National Park which holds a special place in the heart of all Icelanders and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List based on its historical, geological and cultural importance.
This tour is perfect for families and group of friends who seek to discover Iceland’s nature and the Icelandic horse and its unique characteristics.

What is included
- Bus transfer from Reykjavík to the farm.
- During the ride full board is provided. Our menu consists of a large breakfast and traditional Icelandic meals (fish or lamb). Vegetarian meals are available if requested when booking. All riders make their own packed lunch from the breakfast table.
- Alcoholic beverages are not included in the tour price.
- Rain wear, water bottle, saddle bag, riding helmet.
- Individual travel insurance is not included in the tour price. We encourage clients to obtain relevant travel insurance before visiting Iceland.
- Flight to and from Iceland is not included
- Bring bags rather than hardcover suitcases
- Pack light because transport space is limited.

Day 1. Reykjavik – Myrkholt
Pick up from Reykjavík to Myrkholt farm, where horses and staff are waiting for us. We will ride towards the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall where we will have a break to experience the powerful glacial waterfall in all its glory. We ride back to Myrkholt farm where we will spend the night.
Day 2. Myrkholt – Helgaskáli Hut
We head up to the highland area, where we will ride with a full herd of horses towards Laxárgljúfur canyon with a terrific view over the highlands.
Day 3. Helgaskáli – Laxárgljúfur – Kaldbakur & Secret Lagoon
We continue our ride with the heard from Helgaskáli Hut to one of Iceland’s amazing canyons, Laxárgljúfur. After a whole day in the saddle, we will kick back and relax after a great riding tour in the Secret Lagoon.
Day 4. Kaldbakur – Fossá – Myrkholt We will ride with the herd along the river Fossá back to the countryside where we will enjoy the tremendous view back to Myrkholt farm.
Day 5. Geysir Geothermal Area – Tungnafljót – Myrkholt
Today will be our last day of riding. We will ride to the Geysir geothermal area and through one of our national treasures, Haukadalsskógur forest and cross Tungufljót river which is close to Myrkholt farm.
Day 6. Myrkholt – Reykjavík
All good things must come to an end. After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye before the bus takes us back to Reykjavík City.

If you book the tour through the website the full amount is requested. Íshestar requests a confirmation payment upon booking of a minimum of 30% of the tour price. When the confirmation payment is received the seat is secure. The remaining balance is due 6 weeks before the tour departs.
Children under 12 years receive a 25% discount on our multi-day tours.
