Our Classical Golden Circle tour offers a unique opportunity to discover and experience some of Iceland’s most reputed historical landmarks and natural phenomenon.

During the tour, you will amongst other visits the Geysir geothermal area with its regularly erupting hot springs, Gullfoss the magnificent Golden Waterfall and Thingvellir National Park which holds a special place in the heart of all Icelanders and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List based on its historical, geological and cultural importance.

What is included

  • Bus transfer from Reykjavík to the farm.
  • During the ride full board is provided. Our menu consists of a large breakfast and traditional Icelandic meals (fish or lamb). Vegetarian meals are available if requested when booking. All riders make their own packed lunch from the breakfast table.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not included in the tour price.
  • Rain wear, water bottle, saddle bag, riding helmet.


  • Individual travel insurance is not included in the tour price. We encourage clients to obtain relevant travel insurance before visiting Iceland.
  • Flight to and from Iceland is not included

Pick up at BSÍ Bus station in Reykjavik or at Reykjavik official bus stops near your accommodation (see: between 18:00-19:00, where our bus will transfer you and your fellow riders to Myrkholt farm, where horses and staff are waiting for us. You will arrive at Myrkholt farm for a short introduction of the Icelandic horse, it’s abilities and strength. We will ride towards the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall where we will have a break to experience the powerful glacial waterfall in all its glory. After exploring the mighty waterfall, we continue our ride back to Myrkholt farm. Accommodation: Myrkholt farm – Riding time: 4-5 hours

After breakfast, we leave the countryside and head up to the highland area. We ride with a herd towards Laxárgljúfur canyon with a terrific view over the highland and what is yet to cross. The ride continues through the extreme Brúarhlöð canyon in Tungufellsdalur to our hut where we will spend the night. Accommodation: Helgaskáli Mountain hut – Riding time: 6-7 hours

We ride with the heard from Helgaskála Hut to one of Iceland’s tremendous canyons, Laxárgljúfur. Canyons are 10 km long and depth up to 200 meters. back to the civilization at Myrkholt farm where we will pass the remarkable Kaldbakur where we will leave the horses. The bus will take us to the Secret Lagoon where we will kick back and relax after a great ridding tour. Accommodation: Myrkholt farm – Riding time: 6-7 hours

A bus will take us to Kaldbakur where our horses will be waiting for us. We will ride with the herd along the river Fossá back to the countryside where we will enjoy the tremendous view back to Myrkholt farm Accommodation: Myrkholt farm – Riding time: 5-6 hours

Today is going to be our last day riding. We will ride to geyser geothermal area where we will view the spouting geyser Strokkur which erupts frequently up to 30 meters (98 ft) every few minutes. We will ride through one of our national treasures, Haukadalsskógur forest, which is one of Iceland’s largest forests with and cross Tungufljót river which is close to Myrkholt farm. Accommodation: Myrkholt farm – Riding time: 5-6 hours

All good things come to an end. After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye before the bus takes us back to Reykjavík City.

Here you can book your Flybus ticket to and from Reykjavík. The Flybus departs from Keflavík airport 35-40 minutes after each arrival. Busses are located right outside the terminal building. Book my ticket
