We have been on riding holidays in may countries almost every year since 1989. Ever since we first found Íshestar, Iceland is our top destination and we come back year after year. Nowhere else in the world can you experience driving a herd of horses through such magical nature and on every Íshestar tour you enjoy the same personal service.
We have our own Icelandic horses at home but I wanted to ride the horse in its homeland and experience the Icelandic nature. Many thanks to Íshestar for a great tour and the best horses I have ever ridden. Riding with the herd is a true adventure.
I read in the brochure that security, quality and personal service have always been Íshestar´s trademarks and I must say after this tour that it couldn´t be more true! Staff that made us feel welcome and superb horses helped make this our best holiday ever. We will be back!
The best thing with Íshestar is the large selection of tours they offer all over the country and yet every tour is run by a local farmer and his family, that know the land like the back of their hands. This is Eco-tourism at it´s best!
We are four friends that went together on a riding tour with Íshestar last summer. It was a great tour in a fantastic landscape. Our hosts made us feel like members of their family and we will certainly be back.
We have been riding with Íshestar every sommer for the past 6 years. We really appreciate the big selection of tours that Íshestar offers and every year they come up with something new and exciting for us to try. The fact that all tours run by local farmers makes this so unique and we have our favourite horses all over Iceland!

The horses were friendly, calm, and delightful to ride. We spent most of the trip walking, but occasionally put the horses into a little trot which was exhilarating and just a little scary! I highly recommend this tour (Day Tour at the Riding Center), and I would love to do it again. This was one of the highlights of our amazing trip to Iceland.
