Horse Festival in Reykjavik
The 2012 Icelandic Horse Festival will be held in Reykjavik down town area this year. Horsemanship is in the blood of Icelanders and many of Iceland’s most famous horsebreeding farms are located there.
The program is as follows:
Thursday March 29th
• "The horse in the history of Reykjavik" photo exhibition at the city hall
• Riding tour and traditional meat soup at Ishestar
• Horses in movies
• Demonstration and education at Fákur – Landsmót area 2012
• FORMAL OPENING OF THE ICELANDIC HORSE FESTIVAL AT HOTEL REYKJAVIK NATURA
• Reykjavík city – pubs visited...
Friday March 30th
• Horse farm visit in south Iceland - Bus from BSI at 10:00
• 19:30 Final night of Masters League at Ölfushöll
Saturday March 31st
• 10:00 Forum - Icelandic horse
• 12:00-14:00 Horseriding at Ingólfstorg
• 13:00 Horse parade in the centrum – 150 horses!
• 14:00 Line dancing lesson at city hall
• 15:00 Lecture - Ingimars Sveinssonar on horses behavior
• 16:00 Helgi Björns and Reiðmenn vindanna - concert in city hall
• 19:30 Icetölt „All the strongest“ in Laugardalur skating hall
