Íshestar riding tours offers high quality tours in the natural environment, with emphasis on enabling our guests to experience and enjoy the nature with as minimal environmental impact as possible. Our goal is to support the sustainable development of nature, society, culture and the economy.
We put special importance on:
- Choosing riding trails in full agreement with local stakeholders.
- Taking care that horse and man disturb nature as little as possible.
- Using renewable resources in our activities as far as possible.
- Minimizing the production of waste and emphasizing recycling and reuse.
In addition:
- We aim to create healthy and secure working conditions for our employees with optimal training and educational opportunities.
- We emphasize employing and empowering staff from nearby communities as well as supporting international co-operation by providing training and work opportunities for both local and foreign trainees and students.
- We give preference to local products and services that have minimal environmental impacts.
- We give all employees regular training on environmental issues and emphasize employee participation in all environmental work within the company.
- We encourage our staff to inform our guests and suppliers about environmental matters and to encourage responsible conduct towards nature and our animals.
- We work closely with environmental organizations and other stakeholders regarding environmental matters.
- We fulfil all relevant environmental, public, and occupational health and safety, hygiene and employment legislation and regulations.
Íshestar believes that a key element in tourism development is to maintain balance between environmental, economic, and sociocultural aspects of the industry. This balance is vital to conserve natural heritage and biodiversity as well as to guarantee long-term sustainability.
This policy will act as guidelines in our daily operations as we continuously seek to improve environmental and sociocultural performance. It will be annually reviewed and followed by targets and steps to improve our environmental performance in accordance with the requirements of the Earth Check Company Standard. The policy will be communicated to all our stakeholders.
